Surau letaknya dibelakang Istano, fungsinya sebagai tempat shalat, belajar, mengaji (membaca Al-Qur’an) dan tempat tidur putra raja yang telah akil baligh atau yang telah berumur 7 (tujuh) tahun keatas. Disamping mengaji, disinilah mereka diajarkan tentang Undang-Undang Adat, Hukum Syarak, Sejarah, Seni Budaya dan Bela diri.
Surau located behid Istano function as a place of prayer, study, recitation (reading the Qu’an) and the bed was the son of the king who has been legally baligh or who have aged 7 (seven) years of age. Basides reading the Qur’an they are though about the law of Indigeneus, Syarak law, History, Culture, and Martial Arts in this building.
